Biography

Tony Espaillat was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where at an early age he moved to the city of Santo Domingo, starting in studying Arts at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes.

His work was developed in the late eighties, participating in numerous exhibitions in the most prestigious cultural centers in the country, as well as biennials and national competitions.

Tony Espaillat was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, where at an early age he moved to the city of Santo Domingo, starting in studying Arts at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes.

His work was developed in the late eighties, participating in numerous exhibitions in the most prestigious cultural centers in the country, as well as biennials and national competitions.

Through its evolution has taught workshops for nonprofit institutions, and has served on several juries in children's painting competitions.

Currently a member of the Dominican School of Artists (CODAP), member of the International Artists Association (IAA - UNESCO), having received several awards from different cultural institutions, was appointed in Dominican Encyclopedia of Visual Arts 1844-2005.

His work is in numerous private collections, both nationally and internationally, as well as presented in public places.
